When we discovered his last track 'Closer', we thought that Minneapolis singer Elwell was the spitting sound of Justin Timberlake, but with new offering 'Let The Rain Come' he has taken himself in an entirely different direction. Gone are the glitchy synths and in their place is a gloomier treatment, which sits more Nick Cave's 'Push The Sky Away' than JT. That is, until the breakdown, where the familiar electronics kick back in, but instead of dance-inducing they take a more contemplative turn as is fitting for a more sensitive approach. With seemingly many guises, Elwell is proving to be somewhat of a chameleon. - SJ
